I have really let this blog go. I haven’t posted much over the years at all. I really want to change that - so I am going to attempt to post something new each day that represents my mood - and also serves to inspire me. this is the direction I am going to take with this online journal.

To say this video makes me want to start shooting film is an understatement. this is impossible to achieve shooting with a digital camera.  The people over at  www.cinelicious.tv are doing some really great things. hopefully the 8mm format stays around for a long time.

season 2. episode 2. Tokyo-born Japanese+American artist JUURI’s mixed-media work portrays the delicate beauty of Japanese women, expressed through layers of mixed media and strategic paint drips. Fashion, film, music videos, and literature all provide JUURI with inspiration for my surreal-looking subjects. I really wanted to focus on the detail of the artwork - and leave the audience wanting...

season 2. episode 1. Born and raised in central New Jersey, 28-year-old artist Brooke Rowlands has been a proud resident of Oklahoma since 2002. Over the years she’s developed a homogenous blend of both contemporary and still life, often incorporating flowers, birds, trees and fish into gorgeous abstract backgrounds. I am excited to get the new year of film’s underway. The @1614 series has...

OK — I normally don’t do these sorts of test - but I thought what the heck.  Here is a very quick clip of my brand new baby boy “Sawyer”. This was shot on the brand new T2i or 550D, depending on what side of the pond you live on, in a really tough low light environment.  Basically what were working with here is a light source coming from the television set - and also a...
